Job Description

We provide outsourced security event monitoring and incident response services to a wide variety of clients using a Microsoft-centric technology stack. We are looking to fill several developer positions in a rapidly expanding security operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early experience in Power BI or data analytics who wants to grow into a role that combines data visualisation with real-world security insights. If you have a foundation in Power BI and are looking to develop your skills in a Microsoft-focused security environment.

As a Microsoft partner, we invest heavily in training and provide the time and support for you to achieve accreditations from Microsoft Data Analyst Associate through to Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate.

Overview

  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Location: Remote role - work from home only.
  • Hours of work: Full-time 37.5 hours per week, 9:00 am – 5:30pm Monday – Friday.
  • Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 pa dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Power BI dashboards to visualize data from Microsoft Sentinel, XDR, and other security tools, transforming raw data into actionable insights for the security team.
  • Support the development of automated security reports and metrics for the SOC team, helping track incidents and operational trends.
  • Support API/data connector integration into Power BI for real-time and historical security data visualisation.
  • Optimise Power BI dashboards to handle large volumes of security data efficiently, ensuring fast query performance and seamless data interaction.
  • Work closely with security analysts and engineers to design data visualisation and report development.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in developing Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Strong understanding of DAX and Power Query for data transformation.
  • Solid understanding of security data, including incident management and event monitoring.
  • Experience in working with large datasets and optimising Power BI performance.
  • Technical understanding of IT infrastructure:
    • Microsoft 365 suite
    • Defender XDR
    • Entra ID (Azure Active Directory)
    • Azure portal

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services, including data storage and analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Explorer and experience using KQL for querying Sentinel data.
  • Experience with Microsoft XDR suite.
  • Microsoft certifications: PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst Associate), DA-100 (Power BI Data Analyst Associate), or similar
