Role Summary

The Junior Process Engineer will support manufacturing operations and capital projects within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the role will assist in process optimisation, technology transfer, process validation, and continuous improvement activities while ensuring compliance with GMP, safety, and quality requirements. Exposure to sterile manufacturing and fill-finish operations would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support GMP manufacturing and process engineering activities.
  • Assist in the delivery of construction and commissioning activities for manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Participate in equipment commissioning, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and process validation.
  • Support sterile filling, formulation, and aseptic manufacturing operations.
  • Assist in maintaining validated manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Participate in deviation investigations, root cause analysis, CAPA implementation, and change control activities.
  • Support manufacturing system ownership by monitoring equipment performance and process reliability.
  • Assist with New Product Introduction (NPI) and Technology Transfer projects.
  • Analyse manufacturing data and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI), Lean, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with cGMP, GDP, FDA, EMA, and company quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Validation, Engineering, Automation, and Maintenance teams.
  • Support audit and inspection readiness activities.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of cGMP requirements.
  • Knowledge of process validation and equipment qualification.
  • Familiarity with deviation management, CAPA, and change control.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with sterile filling or aseptic manufacturing.
  • Exposure to formulation or fill-finish processes.
  • Knowledge of technology transfer activities.
  • Experience with process monitoring systems (e.g., DeltaV, PI System).
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement tools.
  • Exposure to commissioning and qualification documentation (URS, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • Knowledge of Annex 1 requirements for sterile manufacturing.
