Junior Product Design Engineer

About Apollo Designs
Apollo Designs is a fast-growing product design and engineering company helping clients turn ideas into commercially viable products. We work across a wide range of sectors, supporting projects from early concept development through prototyping, engineering and through to manufacture and launch.
We are building a dynamic and ambitious team with the skills to move quickly, solve difficult problems and bring exciting new hardware products to life.
The Role
We are looking for a creative and practical Junior Product Design Engineer to join our growing team.
You will work across the full product development process, helping transform early-stage ideas into well-designed, functional and manufacturable products. The role will involve concept development, CAD design, visualisation, engineering, prototyping, testing and supporting products into manufacture.
This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys both designing products digitally and physically building them. You will work across multiple projects and sectors, often moving quickly from an initial brief to a working prototype.
As a junior member of the team, you will be supported in developing a broad range of product design and engineering skills while also being given responsibility for your own workstreams and project tasks.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
