The Associate Services Project Manager contributes to the successful delivery of customer services projects that help achieve business outcomes while meeting quality, schedule, and financial objectives. This role operates under the guidance of a Ciena Senior Project Manager within a collaborative, inclusive, and customer-focused environment.

How you will make an impact:

  • Lead project implementation activities within customer networks.
  • Ensure project scope, schedules, deliverables, quality objectives, and service margin targets are achieved.
  • Analyse project proposals to determine timelines, funding limitations, and execution approaches.
  • Identify, schedule, and track deliverables, milestones, tasks, and project communications.
  • Document and communicate project status, risks, obstacles, and resolutions to management.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate with Customer Operations, Sales, Bid Management, Service Delivery, Finance, and other stakeholders to achieve project and financial objectives.

The must haves:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Up to 12 months related project management work experience strongly preferred.
  • Application of critical thinking and analysis to evaluate multidimensional problems and generate solutions.
  • Application of judgment and decision-making across multiple alternatives.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate project activities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a matrix organization involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Utilization of Microsoft Project and Salesforce project management tools.

Nice to haves:

  • Certifications: PRINCE2 or PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working in a matrix organization and demonstrating influencing and collaboration across multiple teams.
  • Application of technology, services, and business concepts in a project environment.
  • Business judgment applied to complex business issues.
  • Results-oriented, collaborative, and accountable approach to work.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
