Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. Supporting some of our well-known brands such as Kingsmill, Pataks, Blue Dragon, Jordans, Ryvita and Silver Spoon, amongst others. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.

Overview Of Role

Location:

Responsible for leading cross functional small projects/changes across the project life cycle; managing the delivery within the agreed methodology, to timescale, budget, and scope; ensuring the delivered product is fit for purpose and meets customer expectations. Responsible for providing project assurance for larger scale projects delivered by our Project Management Team and control for the IS Portfolio Pipeline as a whole.

This role will be actively involved in the day-to-day tracking and reporting of new demand and projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Small Project Delivery
    • Working in partnership with customers within and outside of the GSC IS function to manage the delivery of small projects within the agreed methodology, to timescale, budget, and scope.
  • Defines the deliverables, resource requirements and work plan for the project
  • Ensures the project is delivered within the agreed budget
  • Compiles and presents project status reports, ensuring an honest and objective view is presented
  • Maintaining governance standards across the portfolio, including tracking, monitoring, and updating the status of programme deliverables.
  • Carrying out assurance review processes as required by the PMO Manager.
  • Providing project/programme assurance to stakeholders with regular project quality reviews.
  • Providing guidance on project management software, procedures, processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Carrying out data analysis for onward reporting to senior management/stakeholders.
  • Ensuring project plans are created and maintained, deliverables tracked against time and cost, and resource utilisation is monitored.
  • Organising workshops to identify areas of improvement for projects, documenting recommendations.
  • Implementing project standards across all projects in the portfolio.
  • Managing communications from the PMO mailbox including regular reporting cycle requests.
  • Preparing consolidated material from project reports for ongoing review.
  • Completion and distribution of monthly portfolio level reports.

The Right Person

  • Experience of delivering projects through the whole project lifecycle; able to operate from the initial design stage through to release management and go-live.
  • Good understanding of testing techniques and processes.
  • Experience of dealing with software vendors & consultancies.
  • Budgetary control within a programme/project environment.
  • Working towards PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Project and project planning.
  • Has high quality oral communication and written skills.
  • Proven capability to work independently.
