About the Role

You'll be responsible for managing the delivery of small to medium-sized IT projects and sub-projects that support operational improvements and the wider strategic objectives of the organisation. Projects will typically have a defined scope and run for approximately 3–6 months, with responsibility spanning the full project lifecycle from initial planning and mobilisation through to implementation, operational handover and business acceptance. The role involves establishing appropriate project plans, deliverables, governance and controls, while ensuring projects remain on track against agreed time, cost, quality and resource requirements.

You will also provide ongoing coordination and oversight of project activities, including project finances, resources, risks, issues, dependencies and third-party suppliers where required. You will be working closely with stakeholders across different functions, providing regular project reporting and ensuring appropriate decisions and actions are progressed throughout delivery. The role supports the effective implementation of IT and business change by ensuring agreed project processes, information security requirements and governance standards are followed, with a clear focus on delivering successful outcomes and embedding change into business operations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
