Junior Project Manager – Security
Salary: Up to £30k DOE + benefits
Location: London, King's Cross
Working Pattern: Office based with flexibility around site requirements
Travel: Nationwide travel required as part of the role
The Opportunity
Our client is a growing specialist security business looking to appoint an Apprentice Project Manager to join their project delivery team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in security project management, gaining hands-on experience across a range of electronic security projects while working alongside experienced Project Managers, engineers and senior members of the business.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of smaller-scale security projects, typically ranging from £1,000 to £10,000, while developing the knowledge and skills required to take responsibility for projects independently over time.
You will gain exposure to the complete project lifecycle, including project planning, scheduling, procurement, client communication, engineer coordination, site visits, documentation, cost control, installation and handover.
This role would suit someone who is organised, enthusiastic and keen to develop a career within the electronic security industry.
Key Responsibilities
Working Alongside Experienced Project Managers, Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Supporting the delivery of security projects from initial instruction through to completion.
- Assisting with project planning, scheduling and coordination.
- Supporting the management of projects typically ranging from £1,000 to £10,000.
- Coordinating with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
- Assisting with arranging site visits and engineer attendance.
- Supporting communication with clients and other project stakeholders.
- Updating project schedules and tracking project progress.
- Preparing and maintaining project documentation.
- Assisting with RAMS, permits and health & safety documentation.
- Supporting the procurement of equipment and materials.
- Assisting with project cost tracking and commercial administration.
- Monitoring project deadlines and highlighting potential issues to the Project Manager.
- Supporting site visits and installation activities where required.
- Assisting with testing, commissioning and project handover.
- Ensuring project records and documentation are completed accurately.
- Learning and applying company processes, procedures and industry standards.

- Intruder Detection Systems (IDS)

- Building Management Systems (BMS)
Previous technical knowledge is beneficial but not essential. Full training and support will be provided.
About You
We are looking for someone who is motivated to develop a career in project management within the security industry.
You Will Ideally Have
- A genuine interest in project management and the electronic security industry.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A willingness to learn and develop new technical and project-management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- The confidence to communicate with clients, engineers and suppliers as your experience develops.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to travel nationwide.
- A full UK driving licence, or a willingness to work towards obtaining one.
Previous experience in security, engineering, construction, facilities management, administration, customer service or project coordination would be advantageous.

Training & Development
The role is designed to provide a structured pathway into a career as a Security Project Manager.
You will work closely with experienced project management and engineering teams and develop practical experience in:
- Project planning and delivery
- Client and stakeholder management

- Cost control and commercial awareness
- Health & safety

- Site management
- Installation and commissioning
- Project documentation and handover
As your capability develops, you will gradually take ownership of smaller projects before progressing towards larger and more complex security projects.
