About the Role
The Junior Project Manager will support the successful delivery of internal projects across the organisation as part of the Project Management Office (PMO).
Working alongside experienced Project Managers, the role will help coordinate project activities, maintain delivery plans and governance records, engage stakeholders and ensure that progress, risks, issues and decisions remain visible.
The successful candidate will initially support larger or more complex projects while taking increasing responsibility for smaller projects and defined workstreams as their experience develops.
This is an entry level project management position designed for someone who has gained experience working within projects or project teams and now wants to develop a long term career in project and portfolio management within a technology focused organisation.
The role currently reports to the Director of Risk & Assurance and is expected to report to the Portfolio Manager as the PMO structure develops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of internal projects and defined project workstreams.
- Take ownership of smaller or lower complexity projects, with guidance and oversight from an experienced Project Manager or the Portfolio Manager.
- Help develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, actions and dependencies.
- Maintain accurate project information within Monday.com and other relevant workflow, reporting and collaboration tools.
- Coordinate project meetings, including preparing agendas, capturing actions and decisions, and following up with owners.
- Monitor progress against agreed plans and highlight potential delays, resource constraints or delivery concerns.
- Maintain project risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, ensuring these are reviewed regularly and escalated when appropriate.
- Support project managers in managing scope, timescales, resources, quality and expected outcomes.
- Produce clear and timely status updates, dashboards and supporting information for project stakeholders and governance forums.
- Build positive working relationships with stakeholders across business, operational, product and technology teams.
- Help ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, appropriately controlled and stored in agreed locations.
- Support the management of project changes by documenting requests, assessing their potential impact and ensuring decisions are recorded.
- Assist with project initiation and closure activities, including objectives, deliverables, lessons learned and handover into business as usual operations.
- Support the tracking of project benefits and outcomes following implementation.
- Apply the organisation’s project management standards while recognising where processes should be proportionate to the size and complexity of the project.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of PMO processes, templates, reporting and ways of working.
- Participate in training, mentoring and professional development to build capability across recognised project management approaches.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
