Trainee Project Manager

Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire

About the Company

Our client is one of the UK's leading specialist demolition, dismantling and enabling works contractors, delivering complex projects across the commercial, industrial, infrastructure, energy, marine and defence sectors.

With over 100 years of industry experience, they have built an outstanding reputation for delivering technically challenging projects safely, efficiently and sustainably. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an ambitious Trainee Project Manager to join their operations team.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in project management within the demolition and enabling works sector. Working alongside experienced Project Managers and Contracts Managers, you'll gain hands-on experience across live construction sites while learning every aspect of project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of demolition and enabling works projects.
  • Support Project Managers with planning, programming and site coordination.
  • Attend client, site and progress meetings.
  • Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress against programme.
  • Assist with health & safety, quality and environmental compliance.
  • Help coordinate labour, plant and materials.
  • Produce site reports and project documentation.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and project teams.

Requirements

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Previous site or construction experience is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop a career in project management.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • CSCS Card (preferred).
