Junior Property Manager

Chaneys Chartered Surveyors

Reading (Hybrid – Homeworking/Head Office)

Role Overview

We're looking for a Junior Property Manager to join our team in Reading, supporting the day to day management of a residential developments.

You'll work closely with the experienced Property Managers, building your skills and confidence across compliance, contractor management, budgeting and client relationships, with a clear path to taking on more responsibility as you develop.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their property management career who wants structured support, hands on experience and genuine progression within an established business.

Role Expectations

You'll need to be organised, personable and keen to learn, with the confidence to start building relationships with clients, residents and contractors while developing your technical knowledge.

What Success Looks Like

You'll be succeeding in this role if:

  • Your developments are well organised, with inspections and actions completed on time
  • Clients and residents find you responsive, professional and easy to deal with
  • You're building good working knowledge of budgets, contracts and compliance
  • You're growing in confidence and taking on more ownership over time

How You'll Spend Most Of Your Time

Most weeks, you'll be:

  • Supporting the day to day management of a portfolio of developments
  • Carrying out development inspections and following up on actions
  • Responding to customer queries and helping resolve issues promptly
  • Liaising with the Accounts team on service charge and financial administration
  • Helping to source, appoint and monitor contractors across the portfolio
  • Learning how Health & Safety and industry legislation apply in practice

You'll work on a hybrid basis between home and our Reading office, with site visits as required.

Who This Role Is For

This role suits someone who:

  • Has some experience in residential property management, customer service or a related field
  • Is organised, proactive and comfortable managing a varied workload
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with people at all levels
  • Pays close attention to detail while keeping sight of the bigger picture
  • Is keen to develop a long-term career in property management

Experience That Helps

  • An interest in working towards a property management qualification (e.g. IRPM/ATPI)
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and standard business systems
  • Previous exposure to contractor or supplier coordination (desirable, not essential)
