I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our ambitious roadmap is leveraging some of the latest technologies in order to create exciting new features. As part of an Agile team, from sprint kickoff through to reporting bugs (and everything in between) you will be fully engaged in the development process and be able to make a real difference to the ongoing success of the team.
About you
- You're curious and proactive - when something looks off, you dig in rather than wait to be told.
- You pick up new tools and processes quickly, with minimal hand-holding from your mentor, and know when to ask a well-targeted question versus leveraging available resources to work through it yourself first.
- You take ownership: unclear tickets or escaped bugs get followed up on, not left behind. You manage your own workload, treat documentation gaps as things to fix, and see every ticket as a chance to sharpen your craft.
