Junior Quality Engineer
Role Description
This is a full-time, office-based Junior Quality Engineer role located in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, with occasional travel to customers and suppliers.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate or postgraduate looking to begin and develop a career in quality engineering within a technical manufacturing environment. Working closely with experienced colleagues, the Junior Quality Engineer will receive practical guidance and support while developing knowledge of quality processes, manufacturing standards, and structured problem-solving techniques.
The role will involve supporting the monitoring of production processes, inspecting materials and components, conducting routine quality checks, and helping to identify defects before products reach customers. The successful candidate will assist with investigating technical and manufacturing issues, identifying root causes, recommending corrective and preventive actions, and preparing clear reports and supporting documentation.
The Junior Quality Engineer will also review engineering drawings, product specifications, and quality documentation; support the tracking of quality objectives; and work with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
Titan primarily operates within the automotive and motorsport industries, with a growing portfolio of customers in the defence and scientific markets. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of engineering projects and provides a strong foundation for a long-term career in quality engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the inspection and testing of materials, components, and finished products.
- Assist with monitoring production and manufacturing processes to identify potential quality issues.
- Help investigate internal and customer-reported quality concerns.
- Support root cause analysis and the development of corrective and preventive action plans.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of quality reports, inspection records, and technical documentation.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Support internal and external audits and help maintain compliance with relevant quality and environmental standards.
- Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, and other departments to improve product and process quality.
- Assist with supplier and customer quality activities when required.
- Help track quality objectives, actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Escalate issues appropriately and contribute positively to their resolution.
- Develop an understanding of Titan’s products, manufacturing processes, and quality management systems.
- Follow company health and safety procedures and promote safe working practices.

About You
- A recent graduate or postgraduate with a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Materials Science, or another relevant technical discipline.
- An interest in developing a career in quality engineering within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- A basic understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, or quality management.
- Able to interpret—or willing to learn how to interpret—engineering drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
- Good analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings clearly.
- Confident working with numbers and technical information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and keen to learn.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively, with appropriate supervision and support.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Awareness of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or IATF 16949 would be advantageous, but training will be provided.
- Previous work experience, an internship, placement year, or academic project involving quality, manufacturing, CNC machining, or engineering would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Knowledge of steering or fluid systems would be advantageous but is not required.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to customers and suppliers.
