Join our Quality team as a Junior Quality Engineer Apprentice

Developing the skills to inspect components, analyse quality data, investigate non-conformances and support continuous improvement. Working with engineering, production and suppliers, you will help ensure products meet the highest quality standards.

You will work Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, and will undertake a Level 4 Quality Practitioner Apprenticeship with an Ofsted rated Outstanding training provider, CSR Scientific Training, commencing in September 2026, which will include:

  • Fully recognised apprenticeship qualification - Level 4 Quality Practitioner
  • On-the-job competency training
  • Monthly online lectures
  • A continuous improvement project

This apprenticeship is professionally recognised by the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and successful completion of this programme provides opportunity for Practitioner registration with the CQI. CSR are an approved provider and when you enrol onto this apprenticeship, you are entitled to 50% discount off Student membership for the first 2 years with the CQI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the QEHS Manager for delivering all aspects of the Quality Assurance function.
  • Work in a team environment with suppliers and Naim production to develop and implement best practices that emphasise defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all Product requirements.
  • Collect root cause analysis data and provide corrective feedback to prevent line stops due to supply issues. Responsible for ensuring that the products produced meet quality standards required to minimise quality costs and maximise customer satisfaction, whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to.

Main duties:

  • Incoming inspection of key cosmetic and functional components to a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Recording inspection results and analysing data to drive improvement activities.
  • Assist with first off sample approvals and control.
  • Manage material review board for non-conforming parts.
  • Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
  • Resolve non-conformance issues with supplied materials and follow up with suppliers for completion of corrective actions.
  • Develop standards and requirements for purchased components.
  • Support new product launches, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Coordinate with purchasing department to provide data to monitor supplier performance, generating reports where appropriate and administering corrective actions as necessary.
  • Internal auditing of processes for quality improvement activities and monitoring.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • GCSE maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Can plan and prioritise activities.
  • Ability to present data effectively.
  • An analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Inspection Methods and measuring equipment understanding.
  • Computer literate across excel and data input.
  • Quality focused on achieving and maintaining a high standard.
