Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace Blackpool has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Quality Engineer.
- Full Time Permanent Position
- 40 hours per week
- Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm / Friday 7:30am – 1:30pm
- Job location: Blackpool Business Park, Amy Johnson Way, Blackpool, FY4 2RP
- Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union
- This role is governed by ITAR, restrictions may apply
Supporting the Quality Manager and the wider functional team in ensuring that all relevant aspects of Quality Assurance / Control / Governance processes and key performance indicators and relevant approvals are in line with divisional, regional and corporate level requirements. This is a junior level role which will be supported by continuous development and self-learning.

Essential Responsibilities
- Manage the Calibration process in full and ensure timely disposition with support from all relevant functions
- Support and carry out specific audits in line with the internal audit programme. Support both 2nd and 3rd party audit visits
- Produce relevant periodic reports and support where required the business review process ensuring all information provided is detailed, accurate and in line with timeframes required
- Actively support the Quality Team in the following Quality Assurance / Quality Control aspects:
- FAI
- Inspection and Metrology methods
- The management and coordination of all non-conformance requirements
- Stamp Control
- Active involvement with the structured Problem-Solving process
- Monitor and report out on the Supplier Quality performance
- Build good working relationships with other functions of the business both internally and the wider Magellan group to ensure business requirements are achieved through collaboration and consistent approach
- Proactively maintain functional knowledge by keeping up to date with current and developing Quality processes. Fulfil training programs deemed necessary to allow efficient performance of duties and assist in your own personal development
- Work with a minimum amount of supervision, maintaining good consistent levels of productivity
- Work in a safe manner in compliance with company Health & Safety policy. Report and log and Health & Safety incidents that occur
- Support relevant MOS requirements for the Quality Department and actively contribute to any 6S activities on site
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by management in support of the business

Skills / Knowledge Requirements
Essential Criteria:
Academic:
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or working towards
- Relevant Quality Assurance toolbox qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent including Maths & English
- Good verbal and written communication
Experience:
- Experience in a similar position within a regulated industry such as Aerospace, Automotive or similar
- Inspection and Metrology working experience
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience and/or exposure to internal auditing and practical problem-solving methodology desirable but not essential

- Numerate and literate with the ability to produce accurate and detailed information
- Ability to use Microsoft package
- Effective at communicating at all levels of the business
- Strong attention to detail
Abilities:
- Ability to work under pressure and be flexible to business needs
- Self-driven and able to use own initiative and make decisions
