About the role

Join National Gas Services as a Junior Quantity Surveyor and help deliver infrastructure projects that make a real difference across the UK and Ireland.

Working with experienced project and commercial teams, you'll support the successful delivery of projects through effective cost management, contract administration, risk management, and commercial oversight.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the commercial and contractual management of infrastructure projects
  • Managing commercial activities on allocated contracts while contributing across a wider portfolio
  • Monitoring project expenditure, validating payment applications, and preparing payment certificates
  • Supporting risk management activities and maintaining project risk registers alongside project managers
  • Producing commercial reports, meeting records, and supporting project documentation
  • Assisting with tender evaluations, supplier engagement, and contract negotiations
  • Supporting dispute resolution activities through the collation and review of commercial information

What you'll bring

This role would suit someone who enjoys combining commercial thinking with project delivery and is looking to develop a long-term career in infrastructure and construction.

Essential

  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Quantity Surveying, or currently working towards a Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including Options A, C, and E
  • Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of supply chain management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Full UK driving licence

  • Utilities sector experience
  • Associate membership of RICS (AssocRICS)
  • Experience supporting contract management activities
  • Understanding of project management, scheduling, and cost control principles
  • Experience supporting tender evaluations and commercial reviews
