This is your opportunity to join a highly visible and trusted team at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST), where you’ll develop your skills, make a real impact, and work on challenges that truly matter. As an independent risk control function, we sit at the centre of trading activity, business initiatives, and strategic decision-making. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to commercial teams and a broad range of products, while helping shape how risk is measured, reported, and continuously improved. About the role
- Analyse and clearly explain trading desk strategies, risks, and P&L drivers.
- Ensure trading activities remain within agreed limits by monitoring, challenging, and escalating where needed.
- Produce clear, insightful reports for the Board and senior Management.
- Perform independent valuations and stress-test new products and ideas.
- Monitor market developments and communicate key changes to decision-makers.
- Contribute to business projects, process improvements, and ad-hoc initiatives.
- Continuously develop your skills and bring fresh ideas and best practices to the team.
Job requirements and experience
- A relevant degree (e.g. science, mathematics, engineering, economics) or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform well under tight deadlines.
- An independent mindset with the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence through clear analysis.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, and/or Tableau, with a willingness to learn more.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and experience engaging with stakeholders.

Advantageous, but not essential
- Experience in market risk, particularly in commodities or trading environments.
- Knowledge of RWEST products, risk frameworks, and trading operations.
- Experience with Endur and/or MicroStrategy.
- An understanding of trading desk strategies and products.
