Sage is recruiting Junior Sales Consultants in Birmingham City Centre for individuals who are serious about building a long-term career in commercial sales. This is a structured, development-led position designed to take you from an entry-level consultant through to regional responsibility, and ultimately into a national consultant role, with each step earned on performance and supported by ongoing training.
You will represent a portfolio of established brands, including BT/EE, Eon and Mercedes, gaining hands-on commercial experience within a professional, target-driven environment. We are looking for candidates who bring transferable skills from previous roles in sales, customer service, retail, commercial or competitive sports backgrounds, and who are ready to apply that experience within a business that invests in its people and promotes from within.
As a Junior Sales Consultant, you will work as part of an on-site team engaging with customers face to face on behalf of the brands we represent. You will develop a strong grounding in customer conversations, product knowledge, relationship building and the end-to-end sales process, with clear benchmarks to measure and reward your progress.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
