Launch your property career with a team that backs you from day one
Property moves fast. Deals are won through confidence, personality and knowing your patch. If that sounds like your kind of environment, read on — because Satchells Estate Agents is looking for its next great hire.
We're a family-run business with over 100 years of history behind us and six busy offices across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. We're not a corporate machine. We're a tight-knit team that shares knowledge, celebrates wins together and genuinely invests in the people who join us.
This is a junior role — but it's a proper one. You'll be out meeting buyers and sellers, negotiating offers, and learning every part of the sales process from people who've been doing this for years. On-the-job training, third-party learning, and a team around you who want to see you succeed.
What you'll actually be doing
You won't be stuck behind a desk. A typical week could have you conducting viewings across multiple locations, managing a pipeline of buyers, chasing a sale through to completion, and picking up new business along the way. It's varied, it moves quickly, and no two days are the same.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
