About the Role
Join KPay's founding UK Business Development team and help build the sales engine behind our newest market. We’re looking for a Junior Sales Trainer to support the onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development of our UK field sales and telesales teams. You’ll work closely with Business Development Executives and the wider commercial team to ensure new hires understand our products, sales approach, target customers, and the realities of selling in the UK market.
This is a highly hands-on and field-focused role. You won’t just deliver training sessions—you’ll join merchant visits, observe field sales interactions, listen to telesales calls, run role-plays, identify recurring gaps, and continuously improve our sales scripts, training materials, and playbooks based on what is happening in the market.
You’ll also contribute to sales strategy: helping identify which merchant segments and areas to target, how field sales and telesales should work together, and which approaches are most effective. As KPay builds its UK sales organisation from the ground up, you’ll have the opportunity to help define how we hire, onboard, train, coach, and develop high-performing salespeople. Depending on your experience and the team’s growth, you may also take responsibility for leading a field sales or telesales team of your own.
Responsibilities
- Sales Onboarding: Design and deliver onboarding programmes for new UK Business Development Executives, covering KPay’s products, value proposition, target merchants, sales process, systems, and market context.
- Product & Competitor Training: Maintain and continuously improve product, competitor, pricing, objection-handling, and market knowledge materials to ensure salespeople are equipped for real merchant conversations.
- Role-Play & Sales Coaching: Run regular role-plays and practical sales simulations covering field prospecting, telesales, discovery, product demonstrations, objection handling, negotiation, and closing.
- Call & Field Reviews: Review sales calls, shadow merchant visits, and gather field feedback to identify common strengths, weaknesses, and coaching opportunities across both teams.
- Individual Coaching: Work directly with sales representatives to provide actionable feedback, reinforce good sales behaviours, and support improvement in communication, discovery, objection handling, and closing.
- Sales Script Development: Continuously refine telesales scripts, field sales talk tracks, objection-handling frameworks, and sales messaging based on real market feedback and rep performance.
- Playbook Development: Help build and maintain repeatable playbooks for both field sales and telesales, covering prospecting, merchant conversations, product positioning, common objections, competitive responses, and closing strategies.
- Sales Strategy: Work with sales leadership to identify priority merchant segments and locations, assess the effectiveness of different outreach approaches, and recommend where and how the teams should focus their efforts.
- Field Feedback Loop: Gather insights from salespeople and merchants to identify what is and isn’t working, and translate these insights into improvements to targeting, training, messaging, and sales processes.
- Performance & Ramp Support: Partner with sales leadership to identify onboarding and performance gaps and develop targeted coaching plans to help new hires ramp effectively.
- Sales Enablement: Support the rollout of new products, pricing, campaigns, and sales initiatives by ensuring the field sales and telesales teams are trained and equipped to execute them effectively.
- Team Leadership: As the UK organisation grows, support the day-to-day management of sales representatives and potentially lead a field sales or telesales team.
- Build from 0 to 1: Help establish the foundations of KPay’s UK sales training and enablement function as the team scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in sales, sales training, sales enablement, business development, recruitment/training, or a related commercial role. Candidates with strong sales performance and a passion for coaching are encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of sales fundamentals, including prospecting, discovery, objection handling, negotiation, and closing.
- Hands-on and comfortable in the field—willing to shadow salespeople, participate in merchant visits, listen to calls, and coach based on real interactions rather than theory alone.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt coaching to different learning styles.
- Confident running role-plays, mock sales calls, and practical training sessions.
- Strong commercial awareness and an ability to understand what motivates UK merchants and how competitors position themselves.
- Able to think beyond individual coaching sessions and contribute ideas on merchant targeting, territory priorities, and how field sales and telesales can work together effectively.
- Highly observant and analytical—able to identify patterns from call recordings, field feedback, sales performance, and merchant responses.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to create clear and practical sales scripts, training materials, and playbooks.
- Coachable and open to feedback, with a growth mindset and willingness to continuously improve the way the team sells.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where processes are still being built.
- Results-oriented: understands that the ultimate goal of training is to help salespeople perform and drive merchant acquisition.
- Interested in developing team leadership skills and potentially taking ownership of a field sales or telesales team as we grow.
- Based in the UK; right to work required.
- Open to travel within the UK as required to support the sales team.

What You'll Build
This isn’t a role where you’ll be handed an existing training programme and asked to run it.
You’ll help build the UK sales playbook from the ground up—from how we onboard new hires, to the language we use when approaching merchants in person and over the phone, to how we handle objections, position against competitors, and turn successful sales behaviours into repeatable processes.
You’ll also help shape where our teams focus and how field sales and telesales work together. If you enjoy working with people, being close to the action, coaching others, and figuring out what makes a sales team perform, this is an opportunity to have a direct impact on KPay’s UK expansion and grow into team leadership.
