Job Description
Ready to start your career in cyber security and discover where it could take you?
There's a lot more to cyber security than one role. Over 12 months, you'll get to experience different roles across our client's Security team and discover the areas that interest you most.
You'll work alongside experienced security professionals, build new skills and see different types of security work in action. And you do not need to know where you want your career to go before you start.
This is your opportunity to explore, learn and start discovering the career path that could be right for you.
Here are some of the areas you could work in:
- Application Security: Learn how our client builds security into applications, including vulnerability management, penetration testing, threat modelling and security reviews.
- Cloud Security: Gain experience of how our client protects cloud environments, identify security weaknesses and help teams apply appropriate security controls.
- Identity & Access Management: Learn how our client manages identities and access to systems, including access reviews, privileged access and the principles of giving people the right access at the right time.
- Security Operations: See how our client identifies, investigates and responds to security threats and incidents, working alongside the Security Operations team and security partners.
- IT Continuity: Learn how our client prepares for major technology incidents, including business continuity, disaster recovery and exercises that test how effectively they can recover.
- Vulnerability Management: Help identify and track security vulnerabilities, understand the risks they present and work with teams as they are addressed.
- Threat Modelling & Security Testing: Support security specialists in understanding what could go wrong with new systems and services and how those risks can be reduced.
- Risk & Governance: Learn how security risks are identified, recorded and communicated, and how policies and standards help our client manage security consistently.
- Projects & Improvement: Contribute to security projects and improvement activities, bringing your own ideas and learning how security changes are delivered in a large organisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
