Location: DMG New Media Headquarters, HSK, London
Contract Type: Freelance, paid at a day rate, with the potential to become a full-time role from October

About the Role

DMG New Media is looking for a Junior Social Video Editor to turn our studio-based and presenter-led content into polished, platform-ready videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

Working from our London newsroom, you’ll edit a high volume of short-form content at pace, including explainers, straight-to-camera videos, and recurring formats such as Mail Talks. You’ll take edits from raw studio footage through to fully subtitled, publish-ready delivery, often within the same day.

You’ll join our Social Production team and work closely with senior editors, producers, and creatives. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a busy newsroom environment, gradually taking on more in-depth edits and complex formats as you grow in the role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Edit presenter-led, explainer, and other short-form social videos from studio rushes through to final delivery.
  • Create clean, accurate, and well-timed subtitles and on-screen text as standard.
  • Deliver cutdowns and correctly formatted versions for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Follow established templates and brand guidelines while maintaining a strong sense of pace, structure, and visual storytelling.
  • Manage your own edit queue around daily priorities agreed with producers, delivering approximately 8–10 edits per week.
  • Respond clearly and efficiently to feedback, often working to tight or same-day deadlines.
  • Keep project files, file names, and delivery folders tidy, organized, and consistent.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
