About the Role
Our client is a market-leading technology business seeking an exceptional Junior Software Engineer to join their high-performing engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented developer with 2+ years of commercial experience who is looking to accelerate their career while working on technically challenging projects alongside some of the brightest engineers in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you'll be involved in:
- Designing and developing high-performance, scalable software solutions.
- Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient production code.
- Building modern applications using industry-leading technologies.
- Collaborating with experienced engineers to deliver innovative products.
- Identifying performance improvements and solving complex technical challenges.
- Contributing to code reviews and engineering best practices.

Requirements
We're Looking For
- A minimum of 2 years' commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong commercial experience in C++, Python, Rust, React, or kdb+ (experience across multiple technologies is highly desirable).
- An outstanding academic background, including a First-Class or strong 2:1 degree in Computer Science (or a closely related discipline) from a leading university.
- Excellent understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering fundamentals.
- A genuine passion for technology, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Bonus Points For
- Linux development experience.
- Exposure to distributed systems or low-latency/high-performance systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices.
- Financial services, trading systems, or data-intensive application experience.
