Your Mission
Working at Gen H means embracing new challenges – we’re building a mortgage lender from scratch, and you’ll work with others around the business to design new features and products, solve problems, and deliver great outcomes for our customers.

As a software engineer, you’ll get to own the features you build from start to finish, and will be proactive about iterating on them as the business changes over time.
Our fantastic operations teams use our in-house tools to help our customers and mortgage brokers have the best experience of Gen H. In addition to building new features, you'll play a critical role in improving these tools to support our teams as they provide a high level of service for our customers.
What You'll Bring Us
- You’ve recently started your software engineering career, and have at least 1-2 years of experience building full-stack web applications
- Familiarity with Ruby, TypeScript, and React is preferred, but we like people who are willing to learn new things on the go
- Experience with Postgres or another relational database
- You’ve done some informal domain modelling to help turn ideas into working systems
- Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, and Python are nice to have, but not essential

The application process consists of a first-stage competency video interview, a second-stage on-site values interview with our team, and lastly, a call with one of our Chiefs. We aim to get to know you better in the second-stage interview, allowing you to see our working environment in action. You’ll have ample opportunity to ask questions at each stage.
