Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • A genuine interest in software engineering, technology delivery, APIs, integration, Salesforce or MuleSoft.
  • Some practical exposure to software development, configuration, testing, debugging or technical problem-solving. This could come from an apprenticeship, placement, internship, academic work, personal projects or an early-career role.
  • The ability to follow technical guidance, established standards and defined designs.
  • A structured approach to investigating problems using information such as requirements, system behaviour, logs or test results.
  • Good organisation, with the ability to manage assigned tasks, maintain accurate information and communicate progress or blockers.
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach, with the confidence to ask questions and learn from feedback.
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality, secure data handling and responsible technology delivery.

Useful, but not essential

It would be helpful if you have:

  • Experience of Salesforce configuration, declarative automation, Apex or Lightning components.
  • An understanding of MuleSoft, APIs, REST or SOAP services, integration patterns or data transformation.
  • Awareness of source control, CI/CD, automated testing, deployment processes or environment management.
  • Completed practical labs, portfolio projects, Trailhead badges or other structured technology learning.
  • A Salesforce or MuleSoft foundation credential, or evidence that you are working towards one.
  • A degree, apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related subject.
  • Awareness of financial services, consumer lending, operational resilience, regulated technology delivery or risk and control frameworks.
