Role Description
As a Junior Software Engineer at Vanaways, you will support the development and maintenance of software solutions that power our online van buying, leasing, and finance platform. In this full-time, on-site role based in Pill, you will work closely with senior engineers to implement back-end features, fix bugs, and improve system performance. - Writing clean, testable code
- Participating in code reviews
- Collaborating with product and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Helping integrate third-party services
- Contributing to documentation
- Assisting in ensuring that our systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern programming language.
- Understanding of Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to apply OOP principles in practical projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to learn quickly, take feedback constructively, and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; interest in building scalable, reliable software for a growing business.

Salary
£35,000 depending on experience.
