Job Description
This role is for a graduate level software engineer working on GDUK's Bowman product suite as well as internal research and development projects.
The role will entail requirements elicitation, design, peer reviews, implementation, test, and delivery for projects of differing maturity levels from prototypes to production quality.
This role requires working collaboratively with other engineers from several functions that are developing and maintaining the currently deployed system.
Responsibilities Include:
- Requirements analysis and peer review
- Design reviews
- Creating software designs for moderate complexity components including peer reviews.
- Software implementation of designs and design components including unit test, component test, peer reviews.
- Analysing and debugging issues in software components or system configuration; resolving defects in software components.
- Supporting other activities such as System Integration and test; demonstrations and experimentation as required.

Required Skills & Abilities
Essential:
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a larger team.
- Programming experience in either C# and/or C++
- Experience of developing software using Microsoft tools or similar.
- Capable of working and delivering as part of a team and individually.
- Capable of working to schedule and without supervision for short periods.
- Self-motivated
Desirable:
- Familiar with different Software Lifecycle approaches.
- Capable of analysing and debugging software integration issues on target hardware and software environments.
- Experience of Source Code Management tools such as Git.
- Ability to generate well-structured technical documents using Microsoft packages and manage through a review process to achieve release to committed deadlines.
- Familiar with DevOps concepts.
- Familiar with design modelling standards such as UML and SySML.
- Experience or knowledge of AI integration and use to improve productivity and efficiency in the development workflow.

Qualifications
A university-level qualification in Computer Science/Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or IT discipline or equivalent wide range of relevant experience.
