Junior/Entry-Level Software Engineer | Location: Leeds
Fancy a career in software? Whether you have a relevant degree not?
Good. You don't need one.
We're looking for an Entry-Level Software Engineer who is curious, analytical, and genuinely wants to build a career in technology. Yes, if you have a computer science degree, still apply!
You might be a recent graduate from a completely different subject. You might have taught yourself to code. You might have completed a bootcamp. Or you might be sitting in a completely different career thinking, "I reckon I'd be good at this."
What you'll be doing
You'll work alongside experienced engineers, learning how software is designed, built, tested, and deployed.
You'll get involved in things like:
- Writing and improving code
- Building new features and applications
- Fixing bugs and investigating problems
- Working with APIs, databases, and cloud technologies
- Writing tests and learning good engineering practices
- Taking part in code reviews
- Working as part of an Agile development team
- Gradually taking ownership of your own pieces of work

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- A coding bootcamp or online learning platform
But you don't need to tick every box.

That's not a disadvantage.
