Role Description
We're looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help build, test, and maintain software that increasingly incorporates AI-powered features. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to grow their software engineering skills while gaining hands-on exposure to how AI and machine learning are integrated into real-world products. You'll work closely with senior engineers, learn our codebase and development practices, and contribute to features across the stack — some of which will involve working with AI models, APIs, or data pipelines.
What You'll Do
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code under the guidance of senior engineers
- Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of software features, including those that integrate AI/ML components or third-party AI APIs
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into working software
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team stand-ups
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across the application stack
- Write and maintain documentation for the code and systems you work on
- Continuously learn new tools, frameworks, and best practices, particularly around AI/ML integration
- Support testing and quality assurance processes to ensure reliable releases

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
