Junior Software Engineer
Job Overview
Join the Software Engineering team at Transform AI as a Junior Software Engineer, where you’ll help build internal tools that make software development faster, safer, and more enjoyable for our engineers. You’ll work on systems that improve engineering productivity—such as platforms for tracking code quality, security, and development metrics—and contribute to research into cutting-edge AI tooling that supports developers across the organization.
This is a great opportunity for a junior engineer to gain experience in backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and AI-enhanced development workflows while being mentored by experienced engineers.

Shifts: Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience (recent graduates and career changers encouraged to apply).
- Experience (from projects, internships, or coursework) in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript).
- Interest in backend development, DevOps, or infrastructure tools that support engineering teams.
- Experience in frontend development, preferably PowerBI or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions), and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- Experience with AI and have used it to support software development (e.g., code generation, analysis, or automation).
- Eagerness to learn, strong collaboration skills, and a proactive approach to solving problems.

Responsibilities
- Developer Tooling: Contribute to the development and maintenance of tools that support code quality, security scanning, and engineering productivity (e.g., dashboards, automation scripts, internal APIs).
- Metrics Platform Support: Help evolve our in-house metrics platform that aggregates data from systems like GitHub, SonarCloud, and Snyk to track engineering performance and compliance.
- AI Tooling Exploration: Collaborate with engineers exploring how to responsibly apply AI tools (like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, LLMs, and custom AI agents) to developer workflows. Assist with prototyping, testing, and documentation.
- Cloud and Automation Support: Assist with deploying and monitoring services in cloud environments (e.g., AWS), and support CI/CD pipelines that deliver our internal tools efficiently and securely.
- Testing and Debugging: Contribute to code testing, logging, and monitoring to ensure high reliability and fast feedback loops for developers using our tools.
- Documentation and Learning: Document internal tools and systems, and take part in team knowledge-sharing to support your own learning and the growth of others.

- A day rate, in-scope IR35 either PAYE or Hays approved Umbrella company
- This role provides a hybrid working access from the comforts of your own home and only going to our state-of-the-art office in Paddington (2/3) days per week.
