Junior Software Tester

1 day per week onsite in Birmingham
Up to £28,000

Our client is looking for a Junior Software Tester who genuinely cares when something is not working as it should.

Attention to detail is the most important requirement. You should naturally notice inconsistencies, poor user experiences and small issues that others might overlook.

Commercial testing experience is not essential. Testing knowledge may have been gained through a degree, apprenticeship, technology role, qualification or personal project. However, some previous workplace experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test new features against agreed requirements.
  • Explore systems to identify defects, unusual scenarios and usability issues.
  • Create clear test cases covering different user journeys.
  • Complete regression and smoke testing before demonstrations and releases.
  • Log issues clearly so technical teams can investigate and resolve them.
  • Read and absorb detailed information, then break it down into manageable steps.
  • Use AI tools to support testing and improve efficiency.
  • Demonstrate software to clients and explain how features work.
  • Manage testing activity across multiple projects and deadlines.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
