When you join us as a Junior Sommelier at CUT at 45 Park Lane, you will have a unique opportunity to excel in your field. You will learn from your fellow Legends and our award-winning learning academy to achieve the highest standards in craft, service, and leadership.

What you’ll do

As a Junior Sommelier, you'll enjoy your work and take pride in delighting our guests:

  • Support the Sommelier Team: Help prepare, serve, and look after wine and drinks for guests, keep wine stations tidy, and handle bottles and glassware carefully.
  • Deliver 5-Star Guest Service: Work with the team to give guests a luxury experience; answering questions, assisting with wine choices, and making sure service is smooth and professional.

The items shared are the essence of a day in the life of a Commis Sommelier, but we’ll make sure you are provided with specifics on how we care for our hotel.

The operational hours of work: 2 PM to 11 PM / 12 PM to 10 PM

What you’ll bring

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Attention to Detail: You can follow wine service steps accurately, check stock properly, and store items carefully.
  • Clear Communication: You speak clearly and can talk with guests and teammates.
  • Teamwork: You’re happy to work closely with senior sommeliers, kitchen staff, and waitstaff to make service smooth.
  • Good Customer Service: You can help guests, answer their questions, and make them feel welcome.
  • Basic Organisation: You keep wine stations tidy and help set up and clean up before and after service.
  • Willingness to Learn: You’re open to learning more about wine and service through training.
  • Care with Wine and Glassware: You handle bottles and glassware carefully and safely.

Preferred Skills

  • Some Wine Knowledge: You have a basic idea of grape types, wine regions, or how wines are served.
  • Fine Dining or Hotel Experience: You’ve worked before in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel.
  • Language Skills: You can speak languages besides English (useful for international guests).
  • Food & Wine Pairing Knowledge: You know a little about which wines go well with different dishes or are eager to learn.
