The Role

Reporting to our Head Sommelier, an industry expert, our Junior Sommelier will assist with the seamless running of the restaurant by providing a knowledgeable and elegant wine service to our guests. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your knowledge and passion for wine and be guided by an inspirational leader.

The ideal candidate will be responsive to our guests' requests and enjoy assisting the Restaurant Senior team in the delivery of a very personalized service.

You will be an innovator who is able to generate and share ideas to develop our beverage offering at Beaverbrook. Working with the team your exposure will also include beverage deliveries and our wine collection.

The Person

During service, our Junior Sommelier will assist in guiding our guests through the world of wines in order to create the ultimate dining experience. Engaging with all our diners with natural warmth, charm, and hospitality is an essential part of the role.

We are looking for:

  • An enthusiastic, motivated individual with previous experience as a Wine Waiter/Waitress or Sommelier.
  • A natural flair for communication while recommending wines to complement guest’s palates and food choices.
  • Candidates who have ideally achieved their level 1 or 2 WSET qualification.

Salary and Shift Pattern

  • Salary: £27,480 per annum, plus tronc
  • Shift Pattern:
    • 40 hours per week
    • The ideal candidate will be flexible in working any 5 days out of 7
    • The hours for this position will typically consist of 15:00-23:30, with some variation.
