Role Description
The Junior Sous Chef is a full-time, on-site role based in Manchester, supporting the kitchen leadership team in delivering high-quality pizzas and desserts to guests. This role involves:

- Preparing dough, sauces, toppings, and desserts according to recipes and standards
- Coordinating service during busy periods
- Ensuring consistent portioning and presentation

The Junior Sous Chef assists in:
- Training and guiding kitchen team members
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene
- Managing stock rotation and kitchen organization
The role also supports:
- Menu development
- Contributing ideas to improve efficiency and quality
- Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to maintain a positive, inclusive kitchen culture
Qualifications
- Experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally in pizza, bakery, or casual dining
- Strong practical skills in food preparation, cooking, and plating, with attention to detail and consistency
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper kitchen sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently during high-volume service, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively
- Collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to support and guide team members
- Willingness to learn and contribute to menu development, recipe improvement, and kitchen processes
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a hospitality environment
- Formal culinary training or relevant qualifications are beneficial but not strictly required
