Join our Shatta & Toum Kitchen Leadership Team - Drive kitchen performance. Shape the future of London hospitality.

About Shatta & Toum

Shatta & Toum serves bold, generous Middle Eastern food built around big flavours and informal, shared dining. The menu centres on charcoal-grilled shawarma, alongside mezze and grilled dishes inspired by the region’s vibrant street food culture. From fiery shatta and punchy toum to hummus, falafel, fattoush and lamb kofta, everything is made to mix, match and share.

The Role

We’re looking for a Junior Sous Chef to play a key role in the heart of our kitchen, supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef to deliver consistently excellent food and keep service running smoothly. From a strong prep session to a busy service, you’ll lead by example, maintain high standards and help create a kitchen team that works brilliantly together. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, takes ownership and is ready to take the next step in their career.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys the pace of a busy venue, takes ownership and knows how to bring out the best in people.

As a successful Chef in this role, you will be:

  • Leading great services: Support the senior kitchen team during service, keeping the brigade organised, focused and working efficiently. Stay calm under pressure and communicate clearly across the kitchen.
  • Delivering great food: Prepare and cook dishes to specification, maintaining consistency, quality and presentation throughout every service.
  • Developing your team: Support Commis and Chef de Partie team members through training, guidance and hands-on coaching. Help create a positive, respectful and high-performing kitchen environment.
  • Keeping standards high: Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, health and safety, cleanliness and kitchen organisation, from opening checks through to close-down procedures.
  • Supporting kitchen performance: Help manage prep, stock levels, ordering and waste while working with the senior kitchen team to control food costs and minimise wastage.
  • Supporting the leadership team: Step up to lead the kitchen when required, helping to coordinate the brigade and ensure smooth service in the absence of senior chefs.
  • Championing Arcade: Bring energy and enthusiasm to the kitchen, take pride in the food we serve and contribute ideas that make our dishes, processes and team better.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
