Searcys are looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join the team at the Inner Temple in their Hall.
As our Junior Sous Chef, your role will play an integral part in ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the catering operation.
The Honourable Society of The Inner Temple situated on the banks of the Thames, is one of the few remaining Georgian style event halls in the City of London. That teamed with its surroundings of a three-acres a stunning garden, it offers a unique backdrop to a wide variety of events.

Job Description
The Junior Sous Chef at the Inner Temple will work hands on for the operational productivity of the kitchen department and its operational standards.

Salary: £38,000, plus paid overtime
Hours: 45 hours + extra holiday
Predominately Monday to Friday, occasional weekend.
Closed for the whole month of August and open again on the 7th of September.
Closed for Christmas on Monday the 21st of December. Returning on Monday January the 4th.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Executive Chef / Head Chef / Sous Chef
- Management and leadership of the junior chefs, kitchen porters, including skills development.
- Ensure the brigade is trained in all aspects of menu, equipment and procedure as required by Searcys.
- Working closely with the Senior Chefs to grow in skillset and develop leadership qualities.
- To act as an ambassador to the junior level team, striving for quality and consistency throughout.
- In conjunction with Searcys support the development of the food offer.
- Support and deliver agreed site “Business Plan.”
- In the absence of Head Chef ensures the Site is purchasing correctly in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.
As a Junior Sous Chef at Searcys you will possess a flair for seasonal food and have relevant experience within the industry.

Qualifications
- Formal culinary training
- At least 2 years within a similar role within production or event work
- Good foundation of Health and Safety and Food Safety Knowledge
- Allergen knowledge
- Great management skills with ability to motivate a team
- Flexibility of the role
- Highly developed attention to detail
