Junior Sous Chef - The Fishpool Inn

Are you an ambitious and passionate chef ready to take the next step in your career? The Fishpool Inn, a popular, award-winning, and highly-rated gastro pub, located in a picturesque rural setting, is seeking a talented Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and assist with the daily kitchen operations, ensuring food preparation and presentation meet our high standards.
  • Support senior chefs with managing the kitchen team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Take ownership of your section, ensuring that dishes are prepared, cooked, and plated to perfection.
  • Maintain high levels of hygiene and food safety standards, as well as contributing to stock control and ordering.

About You

  • Experience: Previous experience in a professional kitchen, with a solid understanding of cooking techniques and a passion for using fresh, quality ingredients.
  • Transport: Reliable transport is essential, as The Fishpool Inn is located in a rural area with limited public transport options.
  • Work Ethic: A team player who is willing to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, with flexibility to meet the demands of a busy kitchen.
  • Drive: A strong passion for food and an eagerness to contribute to a high-performing team in a well-established establishment.
