Company Description
LimbPower is a registered charity and National Disability Sports Organisation dedicated to changing lives through sport and the arts for amputees and people with limb impairment. The charity focuses on bridging the gap between hospital rehabilitation and community engagement, promoting regular, sustained participation in movement, physical activity, and sport to improve quality of life and support physical, social, and psychological rehabilitation.
LimbPower works with adults, young people, and children, helping each person find suitable sport and leisure activities that match their needs and abilities. The charity also provides expert guidance to families and professionals, including physiotherapists, prosthetists, orthotists, occupational therapists, case managers, support workers, coaches, and other sport providers on adapting sport for limb-impaired participants. LimbPower fosters local inclusion and community engagement to help individuals reach their full potential.
Role Description
The Junior Sports Development Officer is a full-time home working role with regular meetings in East Surrey. The role involves the operational planning and delivery of inclusive sports programmes for amputees and individuals with limb difference, including events, taster days, workshops, programmes, and ongoing activities. This is an admin and event focused role. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Recruiting and liaising with programme participants, families, and partner organisations
- Coordinating event and programme logistics
- Maintaining accurate records via a CRM system
- Monitoring and evaluating programmes
- Promoting activities through clear communication, digital channels, and community outreach
- Contributing to developing paper and video resources and guidance for coaches and professionals on adapting sport for our community
- Supporting fundraising initiatives
- Reporting to senior staff
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure safe, engaging, and accessible opportunities for all participants

Qualifications
- Strong programme and management skills, including participant recruitment, event planning, and operational delivery.
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to engage sensitively and effectively with colleagues (who are working remotely), participants, families, partners, and healthcare professionals.
- Research skills to gather and analyse information, evaluate programmes, and identify opportunities for new initiatives.
- Relevant experience or education in sports development, community engagement, physical activity, or a related field.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Competence with IT tools, CRM systems, digital communication platforms; experience with social media and event marketing and promotion.
- Commitment to equality, inclusion, safeguarding, and person-centered practice when working with disabled and limb-impaired individuals.
- Some knowledge of Fundraising, with the ability to support charitable income generation.
- Understanding of the charity sector, with an interest in disability sport and inclusive community development.
- A sound knowledge of safeguarding and DBS checks.
