Job title: Junior Surveyor

Pay rate: Up to £210 PAYE / £285 Umbrella per day
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset
Hours of work: 5 days on site
The Junior Surveyor will support the successful delivery of major engineering and construction projects by assisting with a range of site surveying activities. Working closely with the Surveyor, they will prepare site measurements, operate surveying equipment, process and validate survey data, and produce accurate calculations and reports. The role plays an important part in ensuring construction activities are completed to the required quality standards, specifications and programme, while maintaining a strong commitment to health, safety and effective teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Surveyor with a range of site surveying activities across the project.
- Carry out site measurements and collect accurate survey data.
- Operate surveying equipment including Total Stations, Digital Levels, GPS and other survey instruments.
- Process and validate raw survey data to support construction activities.
- Prepare survey calculations and provide accurate results to the Surveyor.
- Perform basic quality checks to ensure survey work meets required standards and project specifications.
- Follow applicable technical specifications, procedures and survey documentation.
- Produce surveillance reports and technical documentation for review and approval.
- Support the delivery of works in line with project schedules, quality requirements and health & safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with the wider project team to ensure accurate and efficient survey operations.

Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience within a surveying, engineering or large industrial/project environment is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of surveying principles, techniques and data processing.
- Experience using survey instruments such as Leica Total Stations, Digital Levels, Scanners and GPS equipment (Rover and Static) is desirable.
- Ability to process survey data and carry out basic quality checks.
- Understanding of technical drawings, specifications and survey documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate measurements and calculations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a project team.
- Able to prioritise workload, remain organised and perform well under pressure.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality.
- Full UK driving licence is desirable.
