Role: Junior Surveyor

Location: Chelmsford
Contract Type: Permanent - Mon- Fri 8am- 5pm (Travel to London on occasion)
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites in London / Essex.
Ideally suited to a 3rd or 4th‑year student or someone with 1-2 years QS experience.
Based within a commutable distance of the CM34 area.
The Junior Quantity Surveyor will support the senior commercial team in the delivery of interior fit‑out projects, gaining structured experience across drylining, partitions, suspended ceilings, firestopping and specialist finishes. This role offers a clear development pathway for individuals seeking to build strong commercial foundations within a professional construction environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Site Measurement - Conduct site measurements and verify drawings, layouts and completed works.
- Cost Management - Assist with cost tracking, variations, purchase orders and project expenditure.
- Package Support - Support the management of specialist packages including drylining, partitions, ceilings, firestopping and doorsets.
- Valuations - Assist with monthly valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Procurement - Review subcontractor quotations and support procurement activities.
- Documentation - Maintain accurate commercial records including site diaries, delivery notes and project documentation.
- Stakeholder Coordination - Liaise with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Commercial Support - Provide day‑to‑day commercial and administrative assistance to Senior Surveyors.

Requirements
- Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline (completed or in progress).
- Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive attitude with a clear commitment to developing a QS career.
