Junior Systems Installation EngineerG4S SecurityHinkley Point C An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Security Installation Engineer to join our site-based engineering team at the New Nuclear Build (NNB) at Hinkley Point in Somerset. The position is permanent, full-time, with a 42.5-hour workweek, typically working as part of a dedicated engineering team. The project will involve working with world-class enterprise electronic security systems and is suitable for experienced candidates as well as those with a solid foundation in electronic security systems and a strong desire to advance their skills and knowledge. What you will be doing: Carry out additional installation and commissioning works as directed by team coordinators and/or Senior Site Engineer.Assist the Design Team in conducting surveys around the site for additional works.Accurate collection and recording of site hardware and software configuration information in conjunction with the CAD Engineer.Maintain site stock (spare) levels.Maintain accurate and timely records.Assist the site-based Health and Safety Lead and Project Director in ensuring audits are carried out for quality procedures.In conjunction with the Installations Manager and Health & Safety Manager, to assist in the production of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and other documentation as required to gain Permits to Work promptlyTo proactively interact with other site-based teams, build a good rapport, and ensure the smooth flow of information to enable the efficient operation of the site.To work in absolute compliance with all site procedures and embrace the customer's 'Zero Harm to People and the Environment' mantra.Carry out any additional tasks that may be required. What are we looking for: Experienced Security installations specialist or Experienced Electrical/Data engineer, Intruder Alarm Systems, Access Control systems, CCTV, Tanoy, PIDs, and Intercom Systems.Excellent understanding of current BS standards relating to Security Systems.Excellent understanding of NSI Standards NCP 104 CCTV NCP 109 Access ControlExcellent understanding of PD6662:2017.An ability to understand and commission IP devices on Security Systems.Experience in Analogue and IP-based.A minimum of 2 years of experience installing and/or servicing a broad product base within the electronic security industry - typically Access Control, CCTV and Intruder alarm systems.Broad IT knowledge, eg, software installation into Windows Operating Systems, IP-based systems and networking principles.Knowledge of basic electrical principles such as measuring voltage, resistance and current. A basic understanding of electrical components, such as relays and resistors.Attention to detail is crucial to ensure that all paperwork is completed correctly and procedures are followed within the allotted timeframes.An enthusiastic team player who can work well under pressure and maintain a professional approach at all times.Comfortable working irregular hours and being on a 24/7 call rota5-year checkable employment history & Right to work in the UK/EU unrestrictedFluent in written and spoken English
