Junior Technical Account Manager – Cyber Security
£30,000–£38,000 | Predominantly Remote | UK
Want to build a career in cyber security without being stuck behind a screen in a purely technical role?
An established and growing cyber security consultancy is looking for a Junior Technical Account Manager to join its commercial and client-facing team.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a graduate, junior professional or early-career candidate who wants to combine cyber security, technology, sales and client relationship management. You’ll work directly with customers, helping them understand their security challenges and identify the right cyber security services — while learning from experienced security consultants and technical specialists.
The Role
You’ll become a key point of contact for both existing and prospective clients, supporting opportunities from the first enquiry through to technical scoping, proposals and delivery. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to the commercial side of cyber security, including:
- Building and developing client relationships
- Understanding customer security, technology and compliance requirements
- Helping customers identify suitable cyber security services
- Coordinating technical discovery and scoping sessions
- Managing opportunities and sales pipelines through CRM
- Producing quotations, proposals and presentations
- Supporting bids, tenders and ITT responses
- Working closely with cyber security consultants and technical teams
- Following opportunities through the full sales lifecycle

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We’re Looking For
You don’t need years of cyber security or sales experience. My client is looking for someone who is curious, commercially minded, confident communicating with people and genuinely excited about the cyber security industry. You should have:
- A strong interest in cyber security, technology, consulting or technology sales
- Some understanding of modern technology through university, an apprenticeship, self-study, placements or early career experience
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence speaking with both customers and technical specialists
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of your work
- Strong written skills for producing professional customer-facing documents
Experience in customer service, sales, account management, internships, consulting, CRM systems or technology environments would be useful — but commercial experience is not essential. Cyber security, computing, networking, cloud or technology-related qualifications or certifications would also be advantageous.
