Junior Technical Designer
Guildford
Office/site based - typically 4-5 days per week
We're working with a leading workplace design and build business looking to appoint a Junior Technical Designer into its growing technical design team.
This is a strong opportunity for someone early in their career with a background in Architecture, Interior Architecture or technical design who wants to develop deeper experience across technical detailing, construction documentation, Revit and live project delivery.
You'll work closely with experienced technical designers, project teams, consultants, and site teams, helping translate design concepts into accurate, coordinated, and buildable solutions.
The Role
You'll support projects from design development through to construction and completion, including:
- Producing technical drawings and construction documentation
- Developing and coordinating Revit models
- Supporting the production of plans, sections, elevations, details, and schedules
- Coordinating architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical information
- Helping translate design concepts into practical, buildable solutions
- Supporting technical specifications and as-built documentation
- Assisting with quality reviews and identifying potential design risks
- Working closely with project managers, commercial teams, consultants, contractors, and site teams
- Attending site visits and developing practical construction knowledge
- Building your understanding of Building Regulations, CDM, and wider technical standards

What We're Looking For
You'll have:
- A degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or a closely related discipline
- Around 1-2 years' relevant professional experience, including internship or placement experience where appropriate
- Working knowledge of Revit
- Experience with AutoCAD and other relevant design software
- Exposure to technical drawings, detailing, or construction documentation
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and coordination skills
- A practical, collaborative approach
- The ability to work at pace and respond positively to feedback
Experience within workplace design, fit-out, or design will be prioritized. Still, candidates from relevant architectural, hospitality, residential, or interiors backgrounds may also be considered where the technical experience is strong.

Working Pattern
This is a predominantly office and site-based role in Guildford, with attendance expected 4-5 days per week. There may be scope for one day working from home at the manager's discretion.
Progression
This is a growth hire within a busy technical design team and offers a clear route to develop into greater technical responsibility and project ownership over time.
A portfolio will be required as part of the process, ideally showing evidence of technical drawings, detailing, Revit work, and project delivery.
