Junior Technical Engineer
Location: Flintshire, North Wales – 100% onsite
Contract: 6 months, potential extension
Pay: £21.51 per hour Umbrella
IR35: In scope
Clearance: SC required or willingness to undergo clearance
We are looking for a Junior Technical Engineer to join a specialist engineering team in Flintshire. This is a great opportunity for someone with a mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering background to develop specialist skills within a calibration environment. Previous calibration experience is highly desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Support calibration and measurement activities.
- Follow technical procedures and quality requirements.
- Interpret measurement results and calibration requirements.
- Correctly handle calibration standards and equipment.
- Use Microsoft Word, Excel and other IT systems.
- Work effectively as part of a technical team.
- Operate relevant equipment following training and authorisation.

Essential Requirements
- Mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering background.
- BTEC ONC, recognised engineering apprenticeship, or equivalent experience/training.
- Strong ability to follow technical procedures.
- Good team-working skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- SC Clearance or eligibility/willingness to undergo SC Clearance. Candidates can start on BPSS as a minimum.

Desirable
- Calibration or metrology experience.
- Knowledge of measurement uncertainty and traceability.
- Experience with calibration standards and artefacts.
- Familiarity with BEAVER DMS, Roundpak, Calypso or similar software.
- Relevant lifting equipment experience or MAOS authorisations.
