Trainee/Junior Technical Perfume – Your future position?

At Givaudan, we are passionate about creating fragrances that captivate the senses and evoke emotions. Our technical perfumery team is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of our scents, including Perfume's restoration.

As a Junior Technical Perfumer, you will contribute to refining and adapting fragrance formulations, gaining hands-on experience in technical perfumery. You will learn to address ingredient challenges while maintaining the integrity of each fragrance's unique olfactory signature.

Reporting to the Head of Technical Perfumery UK, in this highly autonomous role you will:

  • Assist adaptation and refinement of fragrance formulations following creation guidelines under senior perfumery guidance
  • Support fragrance ingredient alternatives development to meet evolving regulations or technical needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver onto projects according to best practice
  • Partner with global departments to study and implement technical solutions
  • Be a technical reference, sharing technical perfumery findings amongst Givaudan Perfumers' community
  • Provide support to the Quality Control (QC) team on ingredient management
  • Process First Time Formula Requests and New Business Orders, coordinating production transfers with local QC as per global processes
  • Support Operations in local inventory management
  • Stay informed about industry trends, palette evolution and regulations
  • Keep up with proprietary tools through continuous internal training

You Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related discipline
  • 3-5 years+ proven experience as a Junior Technical or Creative Perfumer within the fragrance industry, working on cross categories with local and international customers
  • Strong customer service focus with solid business acumen
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and results driven
  • Good communication skills, combined with diplomacy, tenacity, curiosity, resilience, and proactivity
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment
  • Fluent in English
