Junior Technology Support Specialist

Location: London
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

The Opportunity

A leading international professional services firm is looking to appoint a Junior Technology Support Specialist to join its London-based technology team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious IT professional looking to build their career within a highly professional, fast-paced environment. You will provide hands-on technical support to colleagues across the business, assisting with hardware, software, applications, connectivity, and workplace technology.

The role offers broad exposure to enterprise technology and the opportunity to work closely with experienced IT professionals while developing your technical and customer-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support to users across the London office.
  • Respond to IT incidents and service requests via telephone, email, and service management systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Support Windows desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Support user account, password, and access-related issues.
  • Assist with Active Directory and user administration.
  • Configure and deploy laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Prepare technology for new starters and collect equipment from leavers.
  • Support office moves and changes to workplace technology.
  • Assist with VPN, Wi-Fi, and remote-working issues.
  • Provide basic support for meeting room and audio-visual technology.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, assets, and equipment.
  • Escalate more complex technical issues to senior members of the IT team.
  • Follow IT security policies and procedures.
  • Assist with IT projects, technology upgrades, and deployments.
  • Provide a professional and customer-focused service to all users.
  • Work collaboratively with wider infrastructure, applications, and security teams.

Technology Environment

The successful candidate will ideally have exposure to some of the following:

  • Microsoft Windows 10/11
  • Microsoft 365

  • Active Directory / Entra ID
  • Intune
  • VPN and remote access
  • Desktop and laptop hardware
  • Printers and peripherals
  • Mobile devices
  • Wi-Fi and basic networking
  • ITSM / service desk platforms
  • Audio-visual and meeting room technology

Previous experience with professional services or specialist business applications would be advantageous but is not essential.

About You

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology who enjoys helping people and solving problems.

You don't need to know everything already. The most important thing is that you have a solid technical foundation, a positive attitude, and the desire to develop.

You will ideally have:

  • 1–2 years' experience in an IT support, service desk, or desktop support role.
  • Good knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365.
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory and user administration.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Basic understanding of networking, VPN, and Wi-Fi.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests.
  • Confidence communicating with users at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
  • A genuine desire to develop a career within IT.

Professional Services Experience

Experience within a professional services environment would be highly beneficial, particularly where you have supported demanding users and worked to high service standards.

However, candidates from other environments will also be considered. Experience within financial services, consulting, accountancy, technology, or other corporate environments could be equally relevant.
