We're working with a specialist technology and engineering business in Derbyshire that is looking to add a Junior Network Test Engineer to its growing Test and Integration team.
This is a great opportunity for a graduate, apprentice leaver or early-career engineer looking to build hands-on experience across networking, software testing, systems integration and cyber security technologies.
You'll work alongside experienced software, hardware and test engineers, receiving support and mentoring while developing practical experience of testing complex networking products and integrated systems.
The role would suit someone who enjoys understanding how technology works, investigating problems and getting hands-on with different systems rather than simply following a set process.

- Carrying out functional, regression and integration testing.
- Working with test plans and structured test procedures.
- Recording test results and documenting defects.
- Investigating technical issues and helping identify their cause.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
