Job Description
We are seeking a Junior Transactional Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team in Bedford, United Kingdom. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to develop their career in a fast-paced accounting environment. The successful candidate will support the transactional accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions whilst maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.

- Process and record financial transactions accurately using accounting software and spreadsheet applications
- Perform data entry tasks with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all information is recorded correctly and promptly
- Assist with invoice processing, including verification, coding, and filing of supporting documentation
- Support bank reconciliation activities and investigate any discrepancies identified
- Maintain organised records and filing systems for transactional documents and correspondence
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve queries and obtain necessary information
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures as required
- Support the preparation of financial reports and statements under supervision
- Comply with all relevant accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of transactional accounting processes
Qualifications
Skills & Experience Required
- Basic understanding of finance processes (AP or AR) – desirable but not essential.
- Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Willingness to learn Oracle Fusion ERP (training provided).
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Good communication skills.
