The role
CPI has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Warehouse Coordinator to join its established and growing team. Whilst the successful individual will be primarily based at Durham Way South in Newton Aycliffe, the team provide support across all North-East CPI locations (Wilton, Sedgefield, Darlington, Newton Aycliffe) and therefore flexibility to travel to sites will be required. A full UK driving licence or access to transport to be able to travel to sites is essential.
The Junior Warehouse Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the warehouse operating areas in delivering safe, effective, and efficient warehousing and inventory control in support of project delivery.
To ensure CPI’s inventory management function (goods-in, inspection, storage, distribution, finished goods despatch) is safe, efficient, and effective in supporting the corporate strategy & objectives and individual Business Areas is also a significant part of the role.

Key tasks in the Junior Warehouse Coordinator role will include (but are not limited to the below):
- Work alongside the Warehouse Coordinator in managing compliance with the required safety, housekeeping, and quality systems to maintain consistent and documented compliance with all relevant Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Data Integrity (DI), quality and best practice requirements.
- Use the different computer systems used within the warehouse environment to enable the role and stock management.
- Developing an understanding of the flow of raw materials and consumables throughout the facility including goods in, warehouse storage, distribution to laboratories and goods out.
- Ensuring that raw materials and consumables are allocated to the correct projects so that costs are correctly captured.
- Assisting with maintaining visibility of stock levels, continuous availability, correct labelling, location, and use of FEFO and FIFO principles.
- Review and maintenance of the warehouse and associated equipment (e.g., FLT, cylinder storage, laydown area, office areas etc.).
- Developing an understanding of warehouse integrity, including accountability of all goods in/out movements so that inventory control is maintained.
- Adequately package all items and parts for safe delivery to the customer or vendors, assisting the warehouse co-ordinators in liaising with the various carriers used for delivery to customers.

The person
The successful candidate will be educated to a minimum of GCSE level 4 (or equivalent) in Maths or English and;
- Have experience of using Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Possess the ability to plan work on a daily basis
- Be proactive in their approach to work tasks and have the initiative to consider all options before arriving at a conclusion and knowing when to escalate options for approval
- Be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people in a variety of formats.
- Possess a strong attention to detail and desire to complete work to a high standard.
- Show a professional attitude to work at all times, maintaining a high standard of time keeping, respect, and reliability.
It would also be advantageous for the candidate to have a Level 1 or 2 academic or vocational qualification (or equivalent) in subjects related to warehousing and;
- Experience of working within a warehouse environment
- Experience of supply chain management systems (e.g., SAGE, SAP, Oracle)
- Experience of Microsoft D365
- Have knowledge of using Microsoft Outlook and Sharepoint
- Experiencing in chemical material handling
- A valid forklift truck licence
