Britannia Row Productions is a world class audio rental company supplying high end audio equipment and skilled audio engineers to global music tours, sporting and corporate events. Now part of the US based Clair Global group of companies our business and impressive client list is growing and we require additional Prep and De-prep Technicians in our Warehouse.

The Prep and De-prep department is responsible for combining equipment from other internal departments and constructing bespoke audio systems for our valued clients. It is the department’s responsibility to ensure that all equipment is prepared, presented and assembled to our exacting standards and fit for use at our live events.

What will you do?

You will support every aspect of the preparation of audio equipment for live concerts, tours and corporate events. Co-operating with other warehouse departments, Heads of Department and the Warehouse Manager to provide efficient, high quality bespoke audio systems for our clients and offer professional support to Freelance Crew and Client Crew.

The Main Job Tasks Will Be:

Communication and Planning

  • Liaise daily with Prep, De-Prep, and Check-In managers/supervisors to ensure a clear understanding of job requirements and deadlines
  • Report daily to the Head of Department (HOD) and Supervisor to align on tasks and deadlines, enabling effective independent and teamwork
  • Coordinate daily with the HOD and Supervisor to ensure all priorities are completed promptly and are ready for the Pre-prep and Prep stages
  • Prioritise tasks such as turnaround, shipping (e.g., FedEx), sub-hire, and freight check-ins/outs, with guidance from the HOD and Supervisor

Technical Duties and Quality Control

  • With guidance from senior technical staff (e.g., Experienced Technicians, Supervisor, HOD), analyse and interpret technical documents provided by the Operations Coordinator to build/de-prep systems to specification and ensure accurate documentation
  • Prep, De-prep, and check-in equipment following established processes, consistently ensuring a high standard of work
  • Assemble racks and control equipment systems during the Pre-prep and Prep processes
  • Maintain a high level of quality and ensure adherence to all regulatory standards (UK/EU specific)
  • Collaborate with other departments to thoroughly test all audio equipment and systems once assembly is complete
  • Manage and report on the location of all client equipment and goods to the Supervisor and HOD immediately during the check-in process and at all other times
  • Manage stock control using the current rental management software

Workflow and Optimization

  • Help organise the Pre-prep and De-prep areas, ensuring adequate space is available and allocated for each project
  • Prioritise the de-prep of equipment necessary for upcoming jobs
  • Assist the Supervisor and HOD by providing feedback on potential improvements or optimisations for audio systems after analysis of technical information
  • Help ensure that the prep process runs smoothly and that all deadlines are consistently met
  • De-prep and manage equipment in the de-prep area, returning equipment designated for re-prep to the appropriate department
  • Understand the inter-department workflow to deliver high-quality service to clients

What skills and knowledge are we looking for?

  • An understanding of Audio Systems
  • Hands on experience of working with audio systems
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Technically minded
  • Good attention to detail
  • An appetite for learning with a “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to work in a focused and efficient manner
  • Flexibility and availability to work extended hours and some weekends

  • Electronics, audio or computing degrees
  • Experience installing AV, electrical or IT network equipment
  • Experience in inventory management using a barcode system or similar
  • Experience working at live events or venues in a technical capacity
  • Dante, AVB or other Audio over IP protocol experience/certification
  • A working knowledge of DiGico, Avid, SSL or Allen and Heath console systems

  • Our operating hours are 8am to 8pm Monday to Sunday. Standard working hours are 35 hours per week, 10am to 6pm, five out of seven days, Monday to Sunday with an unpaid break of 60 minutes. You may be required to work a reasonable amount of paid overtime.
