The Role
In this foundational role, you will learn the core skills required to be a successful Consignment specialist at The Collecting Group. This is a lead generating role which focuses on sourcing, pricing and presenting high quality consignments for auction on the Collecting.com platform. Because this role involves significant outreach and prospecting, you must be confident and highly comfortable communicating over the phone with both existing and new customers. To ensure your success and growth within the company, you will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support every step of the way.
About you
- Comfortable on the phone, in a fast-paced environment where outbound prospecting is part of your everyday schedule.
- A self-starter who has the ability to work independently.
- A confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Resilient and adaptable, able to learn from setbacks and keep pushing forward.
- No prior sales experience needed, the right candidate will be motivated, eager and wanting to join a role with significant learning and development opportunities.
- Outstanding organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Keen interest in luxury, vintage and collectible watches.

Nice to have:
- Previous experience within a fast paced/sales environment.
- Previous experience with a CRM such as Salesforce.
Responsibilities
- Being an ambassador for the business and building a strong consistent sales pipeline by making outbound calls to introduce sellers to the process of selling with Collecting.com.
- Communicate effectively and ensure excellent levels of engagement and service.
- Research value of collectable watches, analysing industry trends to ensure you are well versed and knowledgeable when speaking to potential Collecting.com customers.
- Be on hand to respond to customers in a timely and efficient manner ensuring that the initial sales administration and customer service activities run smoothly during the start of the process.
- Arranging requested viewings.
- Research competitors' pricing and market success, as well as monitor watches advertised on other platforms.
- You will learn how to:
- Identify and engage with new sellers/clients using a variety of industry knowledge and sales techniques.
- Provide insight-driven advice to potential sellers about selling a wide range of luxury and collectible watches.
- Persuade and educate sellers who may be unfamiliar with online auctions.
- Overcome objections and speak with authority to a broad spectrum of sellers.
- Pitch with confidence, and lead phone calls with impact.
- Use Salesforce and other automotive platforms to convert prospects into Collecting.com customers.
- Engage in daily price negotiations, ensuring fair and accurate watch valuations while securing high quality leads.
- Build and maintain rapport with key stakeholders in the collector markets.
